The longest river in Europe

The longest European river is the Volga in Russia. It is 3530 kilometres long. Its source is a few hundred kilometres south of St. Petersburg. It feeds into the Caspian Sea. The second longest river is the Danube.

It is 2850 kilometres long. Its source is in the Black Forrest in Germany. It flows through Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and Romania. It flows through more capitals than any other river in the world. Via the Danube delta the wide river empties into the Black Sea.

The third longest river of Europe is the Dnepr in Russia. By water flow Volga and Danube are first and second, the river Rhine is third.
